Woman conductor chases and nabs robbers who snatched chain from passenger

Alapuzha: In a dare devil act, a woman conductor nabbed two women who had stolen a gold chain from a passenger of a KSRTC bus.

The conductor of the KSRTC Alapuzha depot P R Suja gave a good chase and held the robbers when other passengers of the bus remained mute spectators. Saraswathy belonging to Ayyappanparambil veetil got back her 3.5 sovereign gold chain. The chain was stolen by Tamil Nadu women Kavita (28) and Sarasu (29) and they were handed over to the police.

The incident happened on Thursday afternoon in a KSRTC bus going towards Kollam jetty from Alapuzha in the afternoon. After the women stole the chain, they immediately alighted the bus and fled. The conductor too ran after them with the help of the local people. The Alapuzha South police nabbed them and produced them before the court and remanded them under custody.
