The Choice School, Tripunithura has decided to encourage its students to use Kochi Metro

The Choice School, Tripunithura has decided to encourage its students to use Kochi Metro. In order to encourage the use of public transport among the new generation, 30 students from grades IX to XII along with two teachers took the metro ride on 4 August 2019 from Thykoodam to various stops.

In future the plan is to stop using the School buses and ensure last mile connectivity from Thykoodam station to the school. The students boarded the train at 2:00 pm.

“Students learn about reducing carbon footprints and saving energy in their classrooms. This metro ride is to set an example to practice what they have learnt and to show how effectively they can save time, energy and money.

Encouraging the use of public transportation is the need of the hour! We aim to inspire all the students across Kerala to take the metro through this initiative. ”- says Ms Sunitha Satheesh, Principal of The Choice School.

“The whole idea is to understand and to inspire others of the future possibilities of Schools relying on multimodalism using Kochi Metro and school buses to transport their students . With collective efforts from KMRL and the public, we can make Kochi a public transport friendly City,” said M.C.Roy, Director JTPAC a sister concern of The Choice School.
