Students of different educational institutions in Nagamangala of the district staged a demonstration on the Bengaluru-Jalasuru road at Nagamangala on Tuesday to protest against alleged harassment of students by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation personnel.

There were gridlocks and tension prevailed for a while following the protest.

More than 500 students from Government First Grade College near Devalapura Handpost, Government Polytechnic College, and Government Industrial Training Institute, who daily commute in KSRTC buses participated in the protest.

According to the students, the drivers and conductors of the KSRTC buses either push students off the vehicles or misbehave with girls when they attempt to board the buses. They urged KSRTC to conduct workshops for the crew to improve their behaviour apart from initiating stringent against those who misbehave with girls. The students also submitted a memorandum to KSRTC officials who visited the spot.
