Smooth delivery for Adivasi woman in KSRTC bus
An adivasi woman gave birth to a baby in a running KSRTC bus, on her way back home from hospital on Saturday. The delivery was fine.
It was Wayanad Ambalavayal Nellarachal colony native Biju’s wife Kavitha who went through this strange experience. The bus was going towards Sultan Bathery from Kozhikode. In the middle of the journey, Kavitha developed labour pain and she delivered when the bus was nearing Kalpetta. The baby was delivered around 9.30 in the morning when the bus had reached the bus depot at Kalpetta.
Soon she was taken in the same bus to a private hospital in Kalpetta. Hospital authorities said that the mother and child were fine and they had no health issues.
Kavitha has been under treatment of the medical college. On Saturday she was returning home alone from the hospital as the doctors had reportedly said that the delivery would happen only after three months.
