The government has got Rs 70 crore loan from the SBT and this would temporarily solve the salary issue of the KSRTC employees. SBT sanctioned the loan finally after hours of marathon discussions that started in the morning.

The management had been running from pillar to post, seeking cores for distributing the salaries. During most of the times, the KSRTC have had to mortgage its depots to raise money for salaries.

KSRTC employees from different depots also had been striking work, which had been a hassle to passengers.

Services went haywire in Neyyattinkara, Vithura, Nedumangadu, Kottarakkara, Adoor and Kalpatta depots after the employees went on a long leave. The KSRTC has been able to give salaries only to staff of 34 depots till date, due to financial crisis.
