Finally, the KSRTC has decided to consider the demand for a fare-stage for fast-passenger buses at Vyttila.

The decision was taken in the wake of complaints received as part of the Chief Minister’s ‘Sutharya Keralam’ project.

Now, passengers from the eastern parts, including Kottayam, have to pay the fare from the origin of their journey up to the Ernakulam KSRTC bus station, even if they step down at the Vyttila Mobility Hub.

The complaint was filed by the Arayankavu Residents’ Association.

The district cell of Sutharya Keralalm forwarded the details of the complaint to the KSRTC officials. The KSRTC officials who conducted an inquiry and found out that the complaint had merit.

The fast-passenger buses belong to the ‘Super’ class category of the KSRTC. Fare stage has been allotted for buses plying in the Tripunithura-Ernakulam route and those coming from Alappuzha.

Earlier, the fare stage for buses coming from Alappuzha, the next fare stage after Kundannoor was at Edappally.

The new decision will also allow passengers to travel on the minimum charge from Tripunithura and Kundannoor to the Vyttila Mobility Hub.
