The regular friction between the online taxis and other local ones have lead to a strong interference from the government side. The kochi collector said that online taxis will be protected at any cost.

People who attack online taxis will have to face license cancellation. The collector is also planning to cut the permit of the vehicle under the ownership of attacker. Online taxi service providers like ola and uber are facing continuous attacks from various parts. In order to resist these, the collector has come forward with the license cancellation.

Recently the malayalam singer Sayanora Philip had to face a similar issue which made headlines. The singer had to face a group of auto rickshaw drivers at the Ernakulam south station. The singer booked a uber taxi for her ride to her home at panampilly nagar from the railway station.

When the taxi arrived at the station, a group of auto drivers came to the spot and started to shout at the driver. The singer was asked to get off from the taxi. The singer resisted the hostile group and shouted back to them. Soon after the incident the singer posted a facebook live video which explained what happened to her at the railway station.

In an earlier incident a couple of weeks back, Fashion designer Vidya gopalakrishnan faced a similar kind of protest from auto drivers and taxi drivers. She also broadcasted a live video on facebook.

The Indian railways have come forward to say that there is no ban on online taxis at the railway station. Anyway these incidents must have forced the collector to take strict actions against attackers.
