The State government is planning to introduce a professional management system in the debt-ridden Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) to make the corporation profitable. At a meet-the-press organised by the Wayanad Press Club here on Sunday Transport Minister C.K. Saseendran said all executive-level posts of the Corporation, except those of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), were being filled through promotions.

Now capable and qualified persons would be appointed to the posts, Mr. Saseendran said. The system would be put in place after discussions with trade union leaders, the Minister said. Services of KSRTC buses would be rescheduled and more schedules would be allotted. Better service would be provided to travellers with the help of Information Technology, Mr. Saseendran said. GPS had been installed in 700 buses as a part of the initiative, he added.
