As the tempers soared in the city over the sharing of Cauvery Water with Tamil Nadu, better sense prevailed in some pockets. In one such goodwill gesture, the employees of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) arranged for Onam celebration for their comrades of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (also KSRTC).

The corporations of the two states buried the hatchet over the patenting of the brand name ‘KSRTC’, and came together to celebrate Onam at the Mysuru Road Satellite bus stand as many drivers from Kerala were stranded here. The drivers from Karnataka collected money and distributed food, water and sweets among their counterparts from Kerala, to mark the Onam festivities.
