People who visit Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary often get to witness the royal bath of a King Cobra, who is an inmate of the Refuge Park at the sanctuary.
The reptile was captured by Forest Watcher Stephen and Forest Officer Shaji from Kanjiraveli village near Neryamanagalam. The snake is looked after by Stephen, who has so far captured 50 King Cobras.
Ornithologist Dr R Sugathan said that the King Cobra will turn violent if he does not get a shower 3 to 4 times a day. This King Cobra is served a special menu which includes cobras to pythons.
