Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland has introduced a nine seater luxury coach called the Luxury Magical in association with India automobile design house DC.

The platform of the luxury bus has been provided by Ashok Leyland while DC has deigned the interiors for a luxury atmosphere. The Ashok Leyland Luxura Magical India bus is powered by a 228PS diesel engine that drives the rear wheels of the coach. The bus features air suspension for a comfortable ride to deliver that luxury experience.

The bus can be chartered from Mann Travels, New Delhi for a day or for an overnight trip to destinations such as Agra, Jaipur, Neemrana and other places around Delhi. It has been announced that 50 per cent of the charter fees will be donated to NGOs like Goong and The Cancer Institute (WIA) Chennai.

The price of the bus has not been disclosed as this is a one-off vehicle. The charter rates have been pegged at Rs 30,000 for an 8 hour/80 km hire. For every kilometre after 80 kms have been covered, customers will be charged Rs 150 per kilometre and Rs 3,000 will be charged for every hour after the 8 hour charter time is exceeded. Mann Travels has also setup a charter for a day trip to Agra which is available on the Ashok Leyland Luxura Magical India bus for a sum of Rs 65,000.

“Ashok Leyland is delighted to be a part of this project with its core values of innovation, focus on the customer front and delivery with a social conscience,” said Vinod Dasari, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland.

Based on customer response and the number of charters secured by Mann Travels, Ashok Leyland and DC will take a call on producing more Luxura Magical India buses in the future.

  1. this is a long pending request to introduce a superfast / super express from thodupuzha to velankanni via madurai, repeatedly iam also requesting to introduce new routes to chennai from all cities of our state which has not been heard by the corporation

  2. this is not a long pending request than the vaikom palani interstate…once minister ganesh kumar promises the bus.. ..let give new buses and services to depot like vaikom that have no super fast service to TVM,, no service to malabar….. only 7 fp buses inlcuding ktm-ekm chain…..ptpm gets new sf service, ktpna more than two SF service,, kumaly more than 2 SF, kdlr 3 SF , IJK 3 SF,,,PKD also SF, and many depots have at least 2 SF buses…. and our vaikom have only one SF ( a TATA bus) and not directly connect to TVM…. vkm-Gvr-Tvm-vkm

  3. How come KSRTC Blog sees only Ashok Leyland’s new models??? Other manufacturer also introduces new models like Volvo Asia Bus 9100, 9400 PX, Tata Hispano Divo, Tata Marcopolo G7 Paradiso (India’s first own Multi-Axle Coach). It is well known that Luxura is failure model from Ashok Leyland and here it gets a good promotion….!!!!! A pure matter of blind fanning or straight matter of commission from AL !!!

  4. If you say Luxura is a failure model, then plz add Tata Hispano Divo also in the same list. Also Marcopolo Paradiso G7 is not india’s first multi axle coach. None of the components are made in India and the coach as such is imported. Tata does not have reputation in basic long distance buses itself. They are showing models only in media and no one buys.

  6. Vinesh…please don’t simply say anything if you are not sure about……if Hispano Divo is a failure model, then it would not have been sold to operators from TN (2 Nos) & KL (3 Nos) in the last 2-3 months where AL thinks as the market leaders in bus segment….Divo is already with SRE Travels in Karnataka ,2 operators from Punjab, 2 from Bihar (including BSRTC) & OTDC. And G7 Paradiso is the first Multi-axle coach from an Indian Manufacturer…it’s design is only from Marcopolo Brazil with whom Tata is tied up with…..it is built in Tata Marcopolo plant in Dharwad on Tata LPO 2138 rear engine platform made in India only by Tata Cummins. Who told you that it is imported???? And if you see Tata has started eating a portion of 12m intercity segment with it’s model 1618C….many new operators who were having only AL from 90’s are taking this particular model from Tata..(Konduskar, Neeta, Shama, SRM, KK Travels, Ganesh etc). AL may be the technology leader…but their innovation remains in the R&D lab and very rarely it comes out from there. They are very late in everything. That’s the reason Mahindran has overtaken them so easily. Go out of KL & TN…you can see the latest trends in market…

  7. Aneesh.. YOu Said It!. I have been commented about the subject in another article on few months ago , where Author was trying to praise AL blindly .
First these peoples should go out from KL,TN,KA then find out whts ruling on road or enquire and learn what happend to Leyland globally 🙂
