Driver cum Conductor in KSRTC bus, new system from Oct 5

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will appoint two drivers in a bus through experimenting driver-cum-conductor post.

A total of 42 inter-state buses will run with the new staff system from October 5. Two staff who have a driving license will be on duty on the bus.

The authorities has decided to implement driver-cum-conductor post inorder to improve the bus services in long distance and check the problems faced by the drivers.

The driving practice was given to the selected conductors. The new post will be implemented in the buses namely Deluxe, Volvo, Minnal, Scania and Silver Jet.

The staff appointed in driver-cum-conductor post will get attendance for 6 and half hours under steering duty and extra wage will be given for extra hours on duty.

The new system will be implemented in the buses from 17 depots in the first phase. KSRTC depots namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Guruvayur, Kodungallur, Kumali, Ponnani, Kottarakkara, Munnar, Pala, Palakkad, Punalur, Pathanamthitta, Piravam, Thrissur and Thiruvalla will implement the new system.
