A group of youths barged into the Koothattukulam KSRTC depot in the wee hours of Tuesday and assaulted five employees and smashed the windscreens of three buses parked there.
It all started at 1.30 a.m. when two youths followed a superfast bus and entered into a spat with the depot security personnel charging that the bus driver had not allowed them to overtake. Soon, an eight-member gang, friends of the duo, reached the spot and started assaulting the staff there. “Cases were registered against 10 persons and we arrested seven of them later in the day. The arrested were identified as Jibu Jose, Sumesh, Bijil Balan, Sharon Francis, Prince Jose, Jinson Mathew and Jishu Vijay,” the police said.
