Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa announced that senior citizens above 60 years can travel for free in all non-A/C buses of metropolitan transport corporation in Chennai from February 24.
The Senior Citizen pass is very useful to many people and it had a great welcome among public. The senior citizens will be issued 10 tokens per month. There will be no deadline for applying for this concession. The scheme will be extended to other parts of the State based on the response from the public.
Every month 10 token is issued and in every bunch the month of token is clearly mentioned and it can be used only in that month. Now it is issued for first four month. This token should be handed over to the conductor on travelling.
