A leopard was spotted in Kannur town near Thayatheru railway gate at around 3 pm on Sunday. The animal reportedly attacked three people, including a Bengal native.

They have been admitted to District Hospital with injuries.

The leopard was spotted near a bush adjacent to the railway track. After the locals started to shout, the animal ran towards the railway track and disappeared into the bushes.

Locals have found the place where the animal has holed up at Kasaanakkotta. This is residential area.

Police and Forest Department officials have launched a hunt to capture the leopard. The police have issued a warning to people in the vicinity against venturing out of house.

Finally the Leopard tranquilized after 7 hours.
