The team, which started inspection on Monday, has assessed various aspects of safety and security arrangements for passenger operations. Inspections were conducted in all the 11 stations on the Aluva-Palarivattom stretch. While the team expressed satisfaction over the safety parameters on tracks and stations, it pointed out some shortcomings in the public information system and CCTV cameras.

The safety commissioner said some changes were suggested in the signalling system also.
KMRL managing director Elias George said installation of public information system was in progress and it would be completed soon.

“What attracted the inspection committee is the interior of the stations. With separate themes at each stations, we have to appreciate the KMRL for making the stations more beautiful compared to the Metro Rail system in Bangalore and Chennai,” K A Manoharan said.
