Hyundai Kona EV, the first electric SUV in the Indian market was launched after much anticipation in the market. The all-new Kona EV has attracted a lot of attention and Hyundai officially announced that quite a few bookings have been made across the country.

After the first unit of the Hyundai Kona EV was delivered in Mysuru, Karnataka, another customer from Lucknow received his vehicle. It is not known if deliveries happened on the same date. Nonetheless, the delivery ceremony was grand as the showroom employees prepared for a dance for the customers and delivered the vehicle in a very unique way.

SAS Hyundai Lucknow has shared a video of them delivering their first ever electric car – the new Hyundai Kona SUV. The entire staff of sales executives is seen performing dance to various bollywood songs, in the video.

Speaking about the Kona, it is the first ever electric SUV of India, and also the first electric car by Hyundai which has been launched in India. Hyundai Kona electric comes into the country via the CKD route and is being assembled at Hyundai’s Chennai factory. It is presented in monotone colour options of Phantom Black, Polar White, Marina Blue and Typhoon Silver.

It also gets Polar White with Phantom Black roof dual-tone paint scheme for which buyers would have to pay a premium of Rs.20,000. It gets a split headlamp, LED DRLs and a sunroof along with slim brake lights, turn indicators and reverse lamps.

The Hyundai Kona is currently available in 15 cities in India through a total of 17 dealerships. It is expected to be available at various other Hyundai dealers soon. The Hyundai Kona EV is a purely electric vehicle that gets a 135 Bhp producing electric motor, which also churns out a maximum of 395 Nm. It can propel the car from standstill to 100 km/h in just 9.7 seconds. The car offers a maximum range of 452 km on a full charge according to the tests done by ARAI. Also, it gets a fast charging option and 80% of the battery can be charged in just an hour.
