How can Indian rickshaws take sharp turns, without having a differential drive?

In rickshaw the wheels and axles are rigidly connected to each other, one of the wheels will slip against the road when the rickshaw turns.  The wheels will wear out a little faster but turning is not impossible  or difficult as long as the load is not super heavy. A couple of people  generally is not a problem but if you had 15 people then turning would  be the least of your problems.

In addition to the above case, new rickshaws are installed with any one free-to-rotate rear wheel.
