Bengaluru-Chennai KSRTC Volvo bus catches fire

A Bengaluru-Chennai Airavat (Volvo AC) bus caught fire on Saturday morning at around 9am, just five km ahead of Chennai city. There were 43 passengers in the bus and no casualties have been reported, says KSRTC.

The reasons for the accident is not yet known but a team of technical experts from Bengaluru have rushed to spot to investigate.

The bus caught fire in the rear part which has the engine.
It can be remembered that a similar accident involving Volvo bus departing Bengaluru caught fire on October 31 near Mehbubnagar in Andhra Pradesh and 45 passengers in the bus were charred to death.
