We wish to point out some glaring violations committed by some bus operators with impunity. We will be grateful if you advise students what to do to against these.

A few drivers do not stop the buses at stops, especial ly if they notice many students waiting. Some others brake hard on the middle of the road if they see many passengers or an acquaintance, causing traffic blocks.

Many exceed the speed limit. Cleaners of buses travel on the footboard, directing road traffic by banging their hands on the door. Some autorickshaw drivers charge extra fares and verbally abuse students.

For any complaints that you may have, please feel free to call up 1090 or SMS at 9745 000100. You may also write to the Circle Inspector of Police, Traffic. These complaints can be sent either at your individual initiative, or at the behest of the traffic clubs functioning in your school. Please rest assured that certain action has been, and will be, taken on these complaints.

In the city, buses overtake dangerously. To avoid this, the running time of buses can be increased so that the drivers will not drive recklessly and in haste.

Increasing of running time is a decision that the Regional Transport Authority, after observing the guidelines and dicta laid down by the State and the courts, can do.
