Uttar Pradesh State Road and Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) announced smart cards for freedom fighters to ensure a smooth ride for them.
To ensure freedom fighters travel hassle-free in a UPSRTC bus, authorities have asked all the regional managers to maintain a list of the freedom fighters in the state and provide details of the same. “All of you are instructed to contact your respective district magistrates and prepare a list of freedom fighters living in your district.
Once the list is in place, get two photographs each of all the freedom fighters and send it to the headquarters,” read the circular issued by HS Gaba, chief general manager (operation in-charge). “This will ensure that no freedom fighter has to face any problems with anyone on the bus as they will have a valid smart card identity given to them by the state.
