Setting an example, students clean up KSRTC buses in Ernakulam

Kochi: The students of Maharaja’s College observed the National Service Scheme (NSS) Day with a difference.

They cleaned up around 10 buses owned by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) in their hours-long initiative at the Ernakulam bus depot.

Around 100 students, members of NSS unit at the college, took part in the programme. When the students, started the clean-up drive, some of the staff too joined them.

They dusted the wind shield and washed the interiors of the vehicles thoroughly. The exteriors, which are often full of dirt and mud especially due to monsoon, were also cleaned before they ended the mission by around noon.

College Principal Dr P S Ajitha, NSS Programme Officers Dr Juli Chandra and Prajini Prakash and Disciplinary Committee Convener Dr K Prakashan took part.
