Passengers of an APSRTC bus had a miraculous escape after it caught fire near Allagadda town in Kurnool district. The bus with 28 passengers was proceeding to Kurnool from Kadapa.

The bus driver noticed smoke as the vehicle was approaching Allagadda. He stopped the bus and alerted the passengers, most of them were in deep sleep.

The passengers got off the bus and within minutes the bus was in flames. A passenger received minor burns.

Fire-fighting personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames. Traffic on the busy road was affected following the incident. The bus belonged to Kadapa depot. The cause of fire is not known. Police registered a case.
