Wikipedia which has come under scanner on several occasion for their authenticity and lack of insensitivity crossed the lines when they made a death announcement of people’s leader Jayalalithaa.
To the shocked fans and followers of Amma (Jayalalithaa is fondly addressed by her devoted fans), kindly be rest assured this piece of information is absolutely fake and holds no truth. The general secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Jayalalithaa is undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. She was moved to ICU after the cardiac arrest and the doctors are trying their best to revive her.
The rumours over about the popular leader’s death has been doing rounds on messaging app like WhatsApp and the social media, highlighting the sick mentality of miscreants. But it would be our humble request for everyone to stop believing fabricated lies and not contribute to sensationalism and confusion.
The 68-year-old has been battling for her life since September 22 when she was admitted to the hospital with complaints of “fever and dehydration.” Jayalalithaa popularly known as Amma is one of the very few Indian political figures to enjoy a massive fan following. Her devoted fans are praying for her quick recovery.
The Wikipedia page of Jayalalithaa shockingly reads – “Jayalalithaa Jayaraman born 24 February 1948), commonly referred to as Amma and Puratchi Thalaivi by members in her party; also called as Selvi J.Jayalalitha, or Kumari Jayalalitha or Jaya or Jayalalitha Jayaram, was an Indian politician and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, in office from 2015 to 4th Dec,2016. She died of a cardiac arrest on Dec 5, 2016 while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai.”
The information on the page has been changed but it on no account justifies their irresponsible behavior. Unverified and fabricated death hoax reports about the eminent personality is only leading to sensationalism and chaotic atmosphere in the country. This is not the first time Wikipedia has erred in delicate matter related to Jayalalithaa’s health condition. They have done it in earlier in the month of October.
As per the latest media reports, hospital COO Subbiah Viswanathan in an official release said “She is being treated and monitored by a team of experts, including pulmonologists, cardiologists and critical care specialists.” Earlier in the day, her party AIADMK, informed the media about Jayalalithaa to soon decide about when to return home with three specialist consultants from Delhi’s premier AIIMS hospital declaring her fully recovered.
