Passengers of a TNSTC bus had a scare after a male elephant accidentally damaged the windscreen of a bus near Eliaskadai in Pandalur taluk on Thursday.
District Forest Officer (Gudalur Division) P.K. Dileep said that the aged elephant was not known for any aggressive tendencies. However, the bus had come very close to the animal and had breached its “comfort zone,” he said.
The startled animal turned around suddenly to check whether it was in any danger, when it collided with the bus’ windscreen.
