Kozhikode: KSRTC began operating Haj special service from Kozhikode to the Nedumbassery airport. Minister A K Saseendran flagged off the first service at the Mavoor Road bus stand on Sunday.

The minister said KSRTC aims to arrange travel facilities for the public at affordable rates, putting an end to the exploitation by private bus operators. If 40 persons book tickets together, services can begin from Panoor, Kuttiadi and Vadakara, he added.

An AC low-floor bus will start from Kalpetta at 7 AM. It will leave for Nedumbassery from Kozhikode at 9.30 AM.

On Wednesday, two more services will begin from Kozhikode — at 9 and 10 in the morning. The ticket charge is Rs 312. Tickets can be booked at the reservation counter at the KSRTC terminal or through the KURTC website (www.kurtconline.com).
