KSRTC ‘Chill Bus’ to connect Kerala from Aug 1

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation will launch a new bus service ‘Chill Bus’ by redeploying all AC buses across the state. The AC buses will take service every one hour from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasargod.

Addressing a press meet here, KSRTC MD Tomin J Thachankary informed that 219 AC buses under KSRTC will be redeployed for ‘Chill Bus’ service.

Chill bus service will come into effect from August 1.

With the new service, AC buses will connect all cities in the state. KSRTC is launching Chill Bus as part of the ‘Connecting Kerala’ project that aims to grab the monopoly of public transport in Kerala.

KSRTC has rescheduled the service of AC buses under the new service by coordinating all depots in order to ensure proper service to commuters.

Apart from the service connecting Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulum and Kasaragod, AC buses will take service to western regions of the state.

Chill bus service will commence from 5 in the morning till 10 in the night. Apart from the daytime services, chill bus service will operate night services every two hours from 10. 30 pm on Thiruvananthapuram- Ernakulum (Alappuzha, Kottayam), Ernakulum – Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulum- Kozhikode and Kozhikode- Thiruvananthapuram routes.

Online booking facility will be available for passengers. KSRTC will also launch mobile app and traffic information facility to make the service more passenger-friendly.
