Kochi Metro: Trial run on Palarivattom – Maharaja’s Ground stretch !!

Kochi Metro authorities said that the commissioner of metro rail safety (CMRS) will conduct inspection after the construction is over.

Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) conducted the trial run along the second stretch of the metro route from Palarivattom to Maharaja’s College Ground on Friday.

KMRL authorities informed that the aim is to begin operations on the route by the 3rd week of September.

KMRL has secured the approval of the Electrical Inspector General for the trial run. The construction of all stations in the route will be over in August.

The Aluva-Palarivattom strech of Kochi Metro was inaugurated on June 17. The metro service on the route began on June 19.

Five Kilometers, Four stations

The distance between Palarivattom and Maharaja’s College Ground is 5 kilometres. The route has four stations- Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Kaloor, North and MG Road.

The Aluva-Palarivattom strech is 13 kilometres. After the Palarivattom-Maharaja’s stretch becomes a reality, the Kochi Metro will extend to a distance of 18 kilometres.
