The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will start its ‘Minnal’ service to Kottayam from Kasaragod on Monday.

The bus, which will start at 9 pm from Kasaragod, will reach Kottayam at 5. 30 am the next day.

The bus will stop at Payyanur, Kannur, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Muvattupuzha and Angamali.(only if there are passengers to alight at the stops).

The ticket price to Kottayam is Rs 471. (includes reservation + tax). The KSRTC is using a super deluxe bus for its Minnal service.

The bus, which will start from Kottayam at 9.30 pm, will reach Kasaragod at 6 am the next day.

Demands have been raised that the government should sanction a stop at Kanjangad for the benefit of the passengers of the hilly region of the district. People fear the passengers from the hilly areas will have to reach Kasaragod or Payyanur to board the bus and this will affect the bus service negatively.

NA Nellikkunnu MLA will inaugurate the service. KSRTC director board member TK Rajan will preside over the function.

The ‘Minnal’ bus service from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram has been a success. The bus, which starts from Kasaragod at 6 pm, reaches Thiruvananthapuram at 5. 30 am the next day. On return, the bus will start from Thiruvananthapuram at 4. 30 pm to reach Kasaragod at 4 am the next day.

The ticket price including reservation and tax is Rs 641.
