Demonetized notes worth Rs 35 lakh was exchanged by a union leader from the KSRTC depot in Vikas Bhavan, alleged BJP state secretary V V Rajesh.

“Stationmaster M Shanavas, who is the CITU unit treasurer, had been exchanging demonetised notes from the depot for the past four days. The conductors refuse to exchange even a few notes with us, saying that the union leaders have asked them for the collection,” said a staff member at the depot. Rajesh said he would file a complaint soon.

“The daily collections are directly transferred to the depot. There was a hospital emergency for staff at the depot, so I had exchanged Rs 30,000 on Saturday. Apart from that, I did not transfer any money,” said M Shanavas. Meanwhile, assistant transport officer of Vikas Bhavan depot, Shaju Lawrence said no such issue has come to his notice.
