Loosened lug nuts of KSRTC bus; Narrow escape for passengers

Cherthala: A KSRTC bus with passengers going from Aluva to Alappuzha was discovered with its lug nuts fully loosened giving way for a narrow escape of the passengers.

The KSRTC 154 numbered fast passenger bus of Cherthala depot was seen in this danger state near Kaloor.

According to KSRTC vigilance department, the ticket inspectors who came to board the bus found the rear wheels of the bus distant and misaligned. On detailed inspection, the 8 lug nuts of the rear wheel were found loosened.

Following this, the passengers were evacuated and boarded in another bus. The bus was taken to the Alappuzha workshop.

This incident is considered as a serious violation of law from the tyre department of the depot. According to rules, it should be inspected before and after each service.

The KSRTC Vigilance department has started an investigation in this regard.
