Bus commuters have complained about the lack of basic facilities at the Thrissur KSRTC bus stand. While Angamaly and Kozhikode bus stands have been developed with better facilities, the Thrissur stand, which runs a large number of services and has good daily revenue, remains neglected, they said.

Harassment

They said the bus stand had become a resting spot for drunkards at night and often passengers were harassed, especially women. Most of the chairs installed at the waiting shed are rusted. Mosquito menace too is severe.

There have been frequent incidents of pick-pocketing too.

On week-ends and holidays, the number of commuters swell, often leading to long queues at the inquiry counter.

Space shortage

Shortage of space inside the bus stand is also a major problem.

There is no sufficient parking space for buses.

This has led to frequent accidents at the KSRTC bus stand.
