AATINGAL: A complaint, alleging that a KSRTC  staff assaulted an Aattingal commuter was registered on Wednesday.  The incident happened on Wednesday  around 8:15am and in the incident Shajahan (36) from Pallickal, Chiramukku got injured. The Attingal depot staff P K Anil Kumar has also a filed a counter complaint implicating Shajahan.

The tussle happened in the middle of the strike being held by the KSRTC employees. The Super fast that was heading towards Thiruvananthapuram from Kollam was waylaid by the employees at Attingal. Though the passengers were evacuated, Sahajahan and his mother Jameela Beevi (70) didn’t get off the bus. Shajahan told the agitators that his mother was a cancer patient and she was being taken to RCC in Thiruvananthapuram.

But unmindful of Shajahan’s explanation, he was pulled out of the bus and beaten up. Other strikers also reportedly backed Anil kumar. Following this, they blocked the National high way, alleging that it was a passenger who manhandled the staff. Later police, who reached the spot, arrested and removed the agitators. Cases have been registered against them.

Shajahan was given first aid and he and his mother were taken to the RCC in a KSRTC employee’s  car.
