So, finally after the long social media promotions, the Kerala State Road Transport has decided to reduce the fare of their Silver Line Jet buses.

Back in 2015, KSRTC introduced few buses called Silver Line Jet and the main attraction said was the less number of stops, free wifi and CCTV camera for surveillance (even though it is not helpful for paying higher bus fare).

Last week, I had filed an RTI regarding the fare revisions and details of Silver Line Jet buses and got an improper reply with no much details. According to KSRTC, these buses are treated as Super Class services and the RTI clearly, says that their aim is to reduce down the running time by cutting the number of stops. But experts says that KSRTC cannot fix a separate bus fare and introduce a new category of service which is against the rules of MVD.

The silver line jet buses were overpriced and the charges were almost similar to Ac Volvo/Scania buses and higher than Super Deluxe Air buses which were not at all acceptable by passengers. The patronage was very less and most of the buses were running in loss. People were forced to travel these buses in some occasion because of no other choice.

Now, the fare seems to be decided to keep in between Super Express & Super Deluxe category and it will be a great success.

We, at KSRTC Blog, congratulate for those who has taken this good decision.
