Kannur: A KSRTC conductor was dismissed from service for throwing a stone at former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy’s motorcade in 2013.

The dismissal order was issued by KSRTC MD after it was proved that the conductor had thrown a stone at the former CM’s car, injuring him.

The conductor, C Hareendran, was employed at the Thalassery depot. He had thrown a stone at Oommen Chandy’s car on October 27, 2013 when the CM had gone to Kannur to attend the closing ceremony of the Kerala Police Annual Athletic Meet. CPM workers had blocked the CM’s car shouting slogans against him.

During the demonstration, someone threw a stone at the CM’s car and he was injured. Hareendran was then a conductor at the Thalassery depot. After the police arrested him, he was sent on remand and suspended from service. After suspension, he joined Vadakara depot and then came back to Thalassery.
