Kerala High Court today directed the Transport Secretary to consider withdrawing the Government Order granting issuance of temporary permit to private bus operators to ply fast passenger and other luxury services.

A division bench comprising justices Thottathil B Radhakirshnan and Babu Mathew P Joseph said if the government was satisfied that KSRTC has made all the routes and other requirements operational on or before November 15, it shall consider withdrawing the earlier decision to grant temporary permits to private bus operators.

The court also directed the Managing Director, KSRTC, to inform details to the Transport Commissioner and secretary to the government.

The directions were issued on a petition filed by KSRTC Employees Association (CITU) challenging grant of permit to private operators.
