The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights is organising an expo on wheels, the Child Rights Express, to create awareness of child rights among the public.

Being launched in connection with Children’s Day, a photo exhibition, video exhibition and distribution of pamphlets on child rights have been arranged in the vehicle that will begin its journey from the capital. Street plays will be organised in association with the government departments in all districts.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will flag-off the Child Rights Express at a function to be held at SMV Higher Secondary School here on November 14, commission Chairperson Shobha Koshy told a press conference here on Friday.

After touring the 14 districts, the campaign will end in Pathanamthitta on November 27. The KURTC has provided a low-floor bus for the campaign being held in association with Childline.

The commission has also decided to convene a meeting of school Principals to create awareness among teachers of corporal punishments.
