Why Cant KSRTC Operate buses to Chennai?

There is a demand that the KSRTC consider Chennai, where there is a large number of migrant Keralites, on par with Bangalore in providing transport facilities. The KSRTC operates services from Bangalore to all important cities in Kerala. The demand is that the KSRTC should follow this example in the case of Chennai too.

Between 7am and midnight, the KSRTC operates more than 50 services between Bangalore and important cities in Kerala, using super deluxe, super express, super fast and AC Volvo, Scania multi-axle buses. Almost all KSRTC depots (main) in Kerala operate at least one Bangalore service.

The migration from Kerala to Bangalore and Chennai is almost on similar levels. With the build-up of IT companies, more Malayali youths are migrating to Chennai in a big way. Still, the KSRTC has not yet thought of starting a service to Kerala.

The least travel facility from Chennai is to Kerala. All daily trains to Kerala are overflowing with people. Many times, tickets are not available even to travel in private buses. It is now a routine that people cancel their travel to avoid the rush during the festival season.

If the KSRTC starts services to Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kottayam, then the travel facilities of Malayalis in Chennai will improve by some extent. The hope is that the concept of Chennai-Kerala KSRTC service will open the eyes of authorities.
