Cash superintendent Sheeba Das and clerk Harikumar were suspended after unaccounted cash of Rs 2.5 lakh was confiscated in a raid conducted by the vigilance at Kayamkulam KSRTC depot.

The raid was conducted on November 21 following information that black money are being converted following the demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000. Invalid notes of Rs 2.5 lakh were seized from the bag of the cash superintendent.

Vigilance officials said a satisfactory reply was not obtained from them on the source of the cash. Following a raid conducted, unaccounted cash was seized.

Though the superintendent told vigilance that the amount was the loan taken from the cooperative society two months back, a probe conducted later found it to be incorrect.
