India has seen some phenomenal changes in the way it travels ever since Suresh Prabhu took charge of the Railway Ministry. Back in November 2014, when Prabhu began his journey with Indian Railways, the institute was in shambles.

Little did we know that in just 2 years, the man would change the face of something that had remained an integral part of a thriving nation, more or less unchanged.

After Deen Dayalu coaches, Humsafar Express and multiple other changes that have been added for the betterment of trains in India, Indian Railways is getting ready to introduce the all new Antyodaya Express.

The train will be a long distance, fully-unreserved, super fast service.

It will majorly operate on dense routes, for the benefit of the common man. It will be unlike any other train, with modern facilities and multiple comforts for the unreserved passenger. What differentiates Antyodaya from other trains is that its coaches will be well-connected, more like a vestibule.

Apart from that, the train will have more comfortable seats. It also boasts of water purifiers, toilet occupation indication display boards, bio-toilets, and fire extinguishers.

It will also have an anti-theft arrangement, cushioned luggage racks with coat hooks, LED lights, and more mobile charging points.

The dustbin will be enhanced in terms of capacity.

“20 coaches and two power cars will be sent to the South Eastern Railway division by December 25,” a person close to the matter told FE Online. “The toilets in Antyodaya Express will be modular just like those in the AC-1st class coach of Rajdhani Express,” the source said.

The Antyodaya Express was first announced by Suresh Prabhu in the railway budget, earlier this year. The routes of Antyodaya Express are yet to be finalised.

Prabhu announced five new services for the year; Deen Dayalu coaches, Humsafar Express, Antyodaya Express, Tejas and UDAY (Utkrisht DoubleDecker Air-conditioned Yatri).

According the news mediastwo Antyodaya trains will be running on the Howrah- Ernakulam-Howrah and Hatia-Ernakulam-Hatia routes soon.
