HRTC’s agendas for 2016 –

1. After delivery of 15 new buses Volvo, HRTC will review its luxury fleet to start new routes and will start providing Wi-Fi, newspapers and blankets without any increase in fare. Tenders have already been placed for the same. Along with Volvo, 16 modern luxury buses (Him-Gaurav) will also be purchased, process for which have been initiated. The buses will connect HP cities to Amritsar, Dehradoon and Haridwar.


2. HRTC will purchase 300 new ordinary buses (30, 37 and 47 seater), taking special care of seat comfort, leg-room & windows. 652 older buses will be removed from the fleet by the end of April.


3. Fifty (50) Electric buses will also start running in the state. The buses will be purchased from Volvo at a cost of ₹1.5-1.75 Crore per bus.


4. The transport minister has also instructed the members of the committee that the buses bought in wet lease should be provided with the HRTC drivers to ensure safety of passengers. Old Volvo buses will now be available in driving schools for learning purposes.
