Kanjirappally: A timely move by 18-year-old Muneer Yousuf helped save the life of two women here. The women were trapped between a pillar at the KSRTC stand and a fast reversing bus. Muneer pushed the two women aside, but his fingers were trapped between the bus and the pillar. Only when they fell down and saw the bus crashing into their space did the women realize that Muneer had pushed them back to life.
Muneer had come to Kanjirappally for a personal errand and the incident happened while he was waiting for his bus. The bus driver had reversed the bus without taking due care. He scampered away after the incident.
The conductor of the bus and others took the injured to the hospital.
The driver appeared at the police station at his own pace and reportedly talked rudely to the three. The police said that the bus has been taken into custody.
