Express, Deluxe and Volvo @ Bangalore

Check out this picture spotted from Satellite Bus Station, Bangalore.

One is a Super Express bus, RNC 764 of Kozhikkode depot.
Another one is a Super Deluxe Air Bus, RRC 971 Of Thrissur.
Last one is our prestigious premium Volvo, Garuda, RA 100 Of Thiruvananthapuram.

Super Deluxe of Leyland,
And Volvo.

Super express belongs to the RN series,
Super Deluxe belongs to RR series,
And Volvo belongs to RA series.

    1. EVERY TIME I SEE 1000 BUS PURCHASE PROGRAMME FROM KSRTC. BUT, SUPER CLASS BUSES ARE LIMITED UPTO SUPER EXPRESS. WHY NOT KeSRTC EXTEND ITS MANAGEMENT SET UP TO DLX CLASS ALSO. THE PRESENT DLX BUSES FAIL TO GET ACCEPTANCE MAINLY BECAUSE OF BODY STRUCTURE. [ THE SERVICE PATTERN IS ANOTHER REASON. ] AT LEAST FOR THESE BUSES, BODY BUILDING HAS TO BE DONE BY PROFESSIONAL BODY BUILDERS FOR MORE COMFORT AND DURABILITY. KSRTC IS NOT EQUIPPED TO BUILD SUCH BODY FOR DLX BUSES.

    NOWADAYS, PEOPLE PREFER TRAVELLING IN DLX CLASS. THIS CAN BE SEEN FROM THE RUSH IN KaRTC BUSES. THEIR VOLVO AND RAJHAMSA BUSES ARE ALWAYS FULL. BUT PEOPLE PREPER KeRTC BUSES FOR ITS SPEED.

    SO, MY REQUEST IS TO INTRODUCE MORE OF DLX BUSES, BOTH AC AND NON AC, ON AT LEAST INTERSTATE ROUTES. ALSO, GOOD BUSES.

    IT IS HIGH TIME KeRTC MODERNISE ITS BODY BUILDING IN GENERAL. THE SEATS ARE OF SHORTER LENGTH WITH THE EFFECT THAT PASSENGERS SIT CRAMMED, ESPECIALLY IN FP AND LOWER CLASS BUSES.THE INTERIOR OF THE BUSES ARE A BIT DARK BECAUSE OF THE NON REFLECTIVE BLUE DULL PAINT. IF IT IS IVORY OR OFF WHITE, THE LIGHT REFLECTION WILL BE GOOD. ALSO, THE LIGHTS FITTED ARE OF VERY ORDINARY TYPE WHICH DOESN’T GIVE MUCH LIGHT. IN DLX BUSES THE ROOF LIGHT SHOULD BE SWITCHED OFF DURING NIGHT AFTER JOURNEY STARTS. EARLIER THESE BUSES HAD LIGHT GREEN COLOUR INTERIORS. IT IS NOT THAT THE PASSENGERS SHOULD TRAVEL WITH DISCOMFORT JUST BECAUSE RTC IS IN LOSS. PASSENGERS ARE PAYING FOR THE TRAVEL.

    THERE WERE TWO AC DLX BUSES AT 8 PM AND 9.15 PM FROM ERNAKULAM TO B’LORE VIA MYSORE WHICH ARE CANCELLED DUE TO ROOF LEAKS AND OLD AGE. THESE BUSES WERE POPULAR. AT LEAST WHY NOT INTRODUCE DLX SERVICE IN ITS PLACE TEMPORARILY? WHY RTC IS LOSING MONEY LIKE THIS? AT LEAST PLEASE DON’T INTRODUCE SUPER X’PRESS WHICH HAS NON RECLINING SEATS FOR NIGHT TRAVEL.

    KeRTC HAD DLX BUS SINCE 1960s. THOSE BUSES WERE CLASS OF ITS OWN DURING THOSE DAYS. BUT NOW, THEY ARE GOING BACK ON THESE BUSES. AM I TO BELIEVE THAT KeRTC IS ITS MANAGEMENT SKILL TO RUN DLX BUSES?

    HENCE, PLEASE COME FORWARD WITH DYNAMISM AND INTRODUCE NEW VERSIONS.

    2. I DOUBT WHETHER RTC DRIVERS ARE ALSO BECOMING LIKE RED KILLERS OF ERNAKULAM. I HAD TWO SUCH EXPERIENCES OF RASH AND EGOISTIC DRIVING OF RTC DRIVERS ON TRICHUR – PALGHAT HIGHWAY RECENTLY. I WAS TRAVELLING ON TCR – PGT HIGHWAY DRIVING THE CAR ON 25TH JULY AFTERNOON. FIRST FP TO PGT CAME OVERTAKING THE TRUCK WITHOUT ANY CONCERN FOR THE OPPOSITE VEHICLE, BETWEEN ALATHUR AND VADAKKANCHERY. LATER, BETWEEN VADAKKANCHEY AND MANNUTHY S/X’PRESS BUS CAME OVERTAKING WITHOUT EVEN BOTHERING ABOUT THE OPPOSITE VEHICLE. IN BOTH CASES, THE DRIVERS COULD SEE THE OPPOSITE VEHICLE VERY NEAR THEIR OVERTAKING POINT. IN BOTH CASES, I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR SUDDENLY OFF THE ROAD FRANTICALLY TO ESCAPE THE HEAD ON COLLISION. EALRLIER I HAD AN ACCIDENT INVLOVING RTC BUS AT KALOOR, ERNAKULAM WHERE MY CAR WAS DASHED ON THE LEFT BY THE RTC BUS. THE DRIVERS SHOULD BE SUFFICIENTLY INSTRUCTED AND CAUTIONED AGAINST SUCH RASH AND NEGLIGENT DRIVING. THEY SHOULD KNOW THE ROAD IS FOR EVERY BODY.

  2. Hai i am rony, i was a routine traveller of KSRTC.I used to travel in Super fast & deluxe bus.Now am in Liberia but i like to speak & hear about KSRTC because its our own,its our money.
    Super fast,express & deluxe are the best buses i travelled(i have not been in a volvo).Three of them offer comfort,speed & that KSRTC touch in travel and with new ABS saftey is also improved.
    My opnion is that when people pay extra money to travel in these buses,they should be told about its benefits for example,the deluxe bus has air suspension,adjustable seats,phone charging facilities etc.The corporation should advertise and make agood understanding of each bus & its specialities.If there is new technology to improve speed,comfort & saftey it should be introduced at least in deluxe buses.Deluxe buses should be made common for travelling inside state & try to offer wifi internet inside bus if possible,youths like it. KSRTC is some times wasting money & time of people.
    I am giving one example that i know,most of the buses from ekm to kottarakkara are through kottayam.It takes at least 4h15m to reach kottarakkara by a superfast.If we take alappey,kuttanad,chengannur route it will save at least 45m and i think it will be profitable too.
    I know that no one will consider it,but i can express my opinin and people like me who like ksrtc will support my opinion and i hope change will come.
