Competition Intensifies-Bharathi Travels Entering Kerala Bus Market

Aanavandi a private blog developed and maintained by Sujith Bhakthan & Team, with the goal of providing information about various public transport services in Kerala, including Kerala RTC services.

Bharathi Travels & Holidays founded in the year 1936 by Mr. A C Mudaliyandan Mudliar from Sholingur in Tamil Nadu, starting their operations with just one bus. Currently the company boasts of around 100 buses consisting of Deluxe and state-of-the-art Volvo B7R’s and operating in the state of Karnataka, Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.

In the year 2001, Bharathi started their package tours division called Bharathi Travels & Holidays from their Bangalore office as Bangalore is known to be a hub for all the tourists visiting South India during all seasons. Bharathi cover all major destinations in South India specializing in Kerala and Hyderabad tours.

Bharathi Travels & Holidays believe in providing complete customer satisfaction meeting every need of the customer in a prompt way. They have well-trained staff to cater to every need of the customer, providing personalized attention to the customers and guiding them as to what kind of holidays they would prefer.

Now Bharathi Travels entered into the booming bus routes in Kerala by connecting Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai and Bangalore. They have also started a brand new multi axle Mercedes Benz service from Changanassery to Bangalore connecting Alappuzha, Cherthala, Ernakulam, Aluva, Chalakkudi and Thrissur.

At present, Bharathi is running 3 schedules to and from Kerala. ie

  1. good news. Good to hear that lots of private players are coming to central travancore. Some years before we were left with no option other than the crawling Kallada. Wish they extend the service to CHRY to ADR or KTR.

Eagerly waiting for SRM to start a service from central travancore to Bangalore.

  2. Our KSRTC will never be a competition to these…competition will be only among private players..I hope KSRTC wakes up when it comes to Bangalore services and other important routes so that it doesnt lose too much to private players..

  3. ITS NICE TO HAVE A NEW MULTI AXLE BENZ BUS TO KERALA. B7R VOLVOS WERE RULING THESE ROUTES TILL SOME TIME BEFORE AND THEN B9R VOLVO MULTI AXLE BECAME THE KING. THE BENZ SURELY WOULD BE AN INVADER TO B9R KINGDOM!

  4. why did they opt for chry..????major share of the travellers come from tvla, cgnr, pta, adr and ktr..so they should extend the service upto adr.meanwhile just have a look at the poor ksrtc airbuses plying from ktr to blr…pity on our ksrtc!!!

    1. Guess they may be follow padikkals route shortly.. guess it will be either to pta /tvla

    2. yes subin, they should extend service to kottarakara. It will be a big relief for us from our own ksrtc…..

  5. Travelled by Bharathi benz yesterday from chennai – bangalore. Awesome bus……..I’m rating this service as the best …………..I even booked a ticket on sunday from chry- blr……………………..Bharathi is excellent……

    1. So this bus goes from Bangalore to Chennai through Kerala?? How does this work out? I’m a bit lost here.

  6. They should extend CHRY bus to Kottarakara. May be they are trying to move away form already busy 7 highly competitive KTR – BLR

  7. Multi Axle services of Kallada, KPN, Bharathi from kottarakara to bangalore.
    then it should be great.
    What happened to SRM?
Did they have any plan of bangalore service from central travancore?

  8. thats the long awaited dream.. A bus from SRM from banglore-pta, tvla/ktr will kick out other operators in picture in this route……….. All small operators like kallada, shama, padikkal will be out if this comes..

  9. I head the Bharati Benz was hit by KASRTC from behind and damaged .Ani one has any news ?

  10. Bharathi bus service : worst customer service i should say…..had been travelling from blore to cochin for the past five years and had never faced an issue like this before….i booked my ticket in one of the front ladies seats and by the time i boarded the seat was given to someone else and i was offered the last seat of the bus and that too not a ladies seat…..its not about having benz bus….its about providing good service to customers…..and the way they treated me when i asked for ladies seat was very bad…….also they provide special buses during peak hours which is even worse……

  11. universel travels to start new b9r service

They r in tvpm for registration

    probable routes are
    Trivandrum – pondy – chennai
    kottayam – velankani
    trivandrum – velankanni

  12. Hey guys, it’s great to be here. Any one heard about VMJ Travels, starting there A/c bus services from kottayam to kasaragod, connecting mangalore. I have traveled in there Volvo buses, from Varanasi to Delhi. They are simply excellent, and are having a very good service there. Just expect to be better than there. Don’t know exactly which bus are they going to put in this route.
They are new to the ever growing Kerala market. Rumors are there that they are going to operate only 3 days a week from ktym and 3 days from ksrgd….
