An Air India aircraft carrying 128 passengers on board suffered a tyre burst while landing at the Mumbai airport here this morning.

The A320 aircraft, operating flight AI 614 from Ahmedabad to Mumbai, had 128 passengers on board. The flight departed from Ahmedabad at around 7.30 am, but landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport only around 8.55 am. The tyre burst when the aircraft was taxing to its parking bay, said an airport official.

An AI spokesperson said that the tyre burst happened after landing. “All passengers are safe,” the official added.

The Airbus A320 aircraft was to fly to Raipur as AI 651, the spokesperson said, adding the airline has already pressed into service another aircraft to fly the passengers to their destination.
